As an African American with a multi-ethnic background, L.D. Her Passion for Education
Later in life, after the unexpected death of her husband who she’d been married to for 30 years, and a promise she made to him before he transitioned, L.D. Jackson is continuing on a path of higher education. As the commencement speaker at her graduation, and with cum laude distinction, her inspirational and transformational message danced upon the hearts of a crowd nearly 10,000 strong, who rose in unison to offer a thunderous standing ovation. Currently pursuing her graduate studies, her sights are set on completing a doctorate degree.

She is the founder and CEO of Soul Dope, L.L.C. In 2018, she moved permanently to Hawai’i. She has two adult sons, three grandkids, and one brown Lab, Hoku, who resides with her in Maui.
